Back… again
Ok first things first… this is not a Joomla! powered site, it’s quite obviously a Wordpress one. Why… well after many many hours trying to do in Joomla! what I saw and liked in Wordpress I came to the conclusion that people blog with blogging engines because blogging engines do it best.
Joomla! is not a blog the same way Wordpress is not a CMS(in the way Joomla! is). Sure Joomla! can be a blog but its isn’t a blogging engine and that means that to get it to be a blog requires time and energy that I simply don’t have for a fairly insignificant side project such as this. Without claiming to be an expert in Wordpress I think the same may apply in reverse for Wordpress… it can be a CMS but its not designed to be which means more work to get to that result.
The good news is that I have got this Wordpress site up and running in a matter of minutes (35 to be precise) and that included time spent searching for a theme and Disqus plugin. Not bad for someone that has never really used Wordpress, and an example of why the likes of Wordpress and Joomla! dominate their respective markets.
I think that should do by way of explanations. Now I can go back to mucking around in here… hopefully not for too long as I have Nooku stuff to get back to.
